Lori Lightfoot unveils plans to tackle school budgets, policing

On Friday, Mayor-Elect Lori Lightfoot's transition team unveiled plans to overhaul the way the district gives money to schools, moving away from per-pupil allocation that penalizes shrinking schools. Lightfoot, who takes office Monday, also challenged schools chief Janice Jackson and police chief Eddie Johnson to look at other jurisdictions and rethink how campuses are policed.
