Happy Holidays from EdNews Parent

I don’t know about you, but I usually cry when I hear children sing – whether my daughter is in the group or not. Children’s voices are just so pure and sweet and beautiful. They don’t get bent out of shape if they hit a wrong note. They are just so happy to be alive and singing. They are of an age when all their dreams can come true – if we give them all the love and support they deserve.

This is what we, on the EdNews team, are trying to do with EdNews Parent – give you the tools and support you need to be the best parent you can be to your school-aged children as they enter elementary school, transition to middle school and – finally – move on to high school and beyond. We do this by focusing on healthy schools, teaching and learning, and safe schools.

Thanks for joining us. May your holidays be filled with peace and love, and your new year blessed with many exciting opportunities for learning and growth. We will see you again the week of Jan. 3, 2011.

(For the record, my third grade daughter is in the second row as she performs “Come January” in this short video with other Crest View Elementary School students in Boulder – but you can’t see her because she didn’t want to stand in front. I still cried.)

Sincerely,

Julie Poppen, editor
