What’s churning:
Caitlin Ryan, director of the Family Acceptance Project and a nationally recognized researcher on issues impacting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered youth, will lead three free trainings over the next few days in Boulder County.
The presentations, “Always Our Kids: A Path to Family Acceptance,” will provide information on how to promote well-being for LGBT children and teens and how families, communities and schools can respond and adapt when LGBT youth come out.
She’ll speak on Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to noon, at Lafayette Public Library, 775 W. Baseline Road; on Sunday, 2 to 4:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Boulder, 1421 Spruce St.; and on Monday, 6 to 9 p.m. at Skyline High School Library, 600 E. Mountain Ave. in Longmont.
The Family Acceptance Project, based at San Francisco State University, is a research, education and policy initiative that works to decrease health- and related risks confronting LGBT youth.
