Rise & Shine: Bus woes plague more Indiana districts

CHARLOTTESVILLE: In the wake of the violence in Charlottesville, trauma could carry over into classrooms. Studies have found that violent and traumatic events outside of school do real damage to student learning — particularly among students who are already struggling. MORE BUS WOES: Muncie Public Schools isn’t the only district struggling with their bus providers. Martinsville and Monroe schools also worked with True Consulting Services to develop new bus routes, which the schools say are unsafe and caused delays. Read more from RTV6, IndyChannel and WTHR.

VIRTUAL REALITY: An Indianapolis charter school is experimenting with virtual reality in science classrooms. Students at Hope Academy, a high school for students recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, will learn about space and geography using an Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. Read more from WFYI.
