Career & Technical Education Conference

The third annual New York Regional Career and Technical Education Conference, serving New York City, Yonkers, White Plains, and the lower Hudson Valley, will take place November 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the High School of Graphic Communication Arts (439 West 49th Street, Manhattan). The conference is an excellent professional development opportunity for all those interested or involved in career and technical education to work with colleagues to strengthen and enrich the planning for and delivery of CTE in their school. Participating teams will access the latest trends in CTE and network with colleagues from across the city and the state.

There will be working group sessions on a variety of topics. Because the working sessions are oriented toward action-planning and school-based problem solving, schools are expected to register in teams. Teams may include CTE faculty, secondary school academic teachers in all subject areas, high school and middle school administrators, counselors, and work-based learning coordinators. Note that this should not interfere with other professional opportunities available for CTE staff, including participation in team-based opportunities around small learning communities or school-wide planning.
