The Closing the Achievement Gap (CAG) is a speaker series and learning program sponsored by NYCDOE Division of Equity and Access and derives from the Empowering Boys Initiative (EBI). The series is a component of the NYCDOE’s Empowering Boys Initiative and focuses on closing the achievement gap in Black and Latino male students by supporting schools through the identification, development and promotion of innovative and culturally competent support systems. These sessions will equip parents, teachers and students with the necessary tools that are needed to engage, retain and encourage boys to succeed in the global economy.
