Another study finds benefits for structured recess programs

This video is three years old, but the nonprofit that produced it, Playworks, has some news: A randomized study found that benefits for students at schools where Playworks supports structured recess programs, including increased physical activity and decreased bullying. Playworks works with 12 city schools in three boroughs.

Last year, a study of a different recess nonprofit, the Recess Enhancement Program, found similar benefits.
