Save the date! Chalkbeat invites you to a reader feedback meeting

In January, our Reader Advisory Board threw us (and our readers) a party. Next month, they’re hosting an event that promises to be equally engaging, if a little quieter:

Here’s their invitation to a reader feedback meeting on May 15:

As members of the Chalkbeat/Gotham Schools Reader Advisory Board (RAB) for the last few years, we’ve had the pleasure of providing feedback on Chalkbeat reporting, both on specific stories and on the big picture. We’ve been continually impressed by how thoughtful and responsive the Chalkbeat reporters are to our feedback. As Chalkbeat continues to grow, we’re eager to hear more input from more readers, and we know that Chalkbeat reporters and editors are too. Whether you read Chalkbeat twice a day or twice a year, we’d love to have you at an upcoming reader feedback meeting. We’ll do a close read of a few stories, soliciting specific feedback, and also ask for your broader feedback on Chalkbeat’s reporting as a whole and ideas for how it can be improved. The meeting will be facilitated by RAB members and Chalkbeat’s community editor, Emma Sokoloff-Rubin. The meeting will take place from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at Harvest Collegiate High School  at 34 W. 14th St., right by Union Square. Please sign up here if you’re interested. If you’re not able to make these meetings but would like to participate in future reader feedback sessions, please fill out the form anyway and let us know your date and location preferences in the “anything else you’d like us to know” box. Sincerely, Sanda Balaban, Andy Snyder, Chad Gleason, and Steve Lazar
