Shelby County Schools will host this year’s “Farm-to-School” conference this weekend. The free conference will help teachers and farmers learn about efforts to serve more locally-grown food in school cafeterias and ways to build community gardens.
In attendance will be representatives from the Memphis Botanic Gardens, several agricultural programs at the University of Tennessee, Tennessee State University and Alcorn State University.
The conference will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Central Nutrition Center at 3176 Jackson Ave. in Memphis.
