White House officials announced Friday that the Denver School of Science and Technology is one of six finalists in the national contest to win President Obama as commencement speaker.
The Stapleton charter school, known as DSST, is the district’s top-scoring high school. Click in the picture above to see the video that helped the school make the finals in the Race to the Top High School Commencement Challenge.
The other high schools are in Kansas, Ohio, California, Michigan and Florida.
Students at all six high schools now must begin work on videos to be featured on the White House website, where the public will pick the top three. Obama will then pick the school where he’ll deliver his graduation address this spring.
