The final numbers in. Committees and candidates in the high-profile Jefferson County school board recall were required to submit their final campaign finance report to the secretary of state by midnight Thursday. While the final reports provide a sharper focus on the money interests behind the recall, not all is clear.
A conservative nonprofit that is not required to file with secretary of state’s office, Americans For Prosperity, announced during the campaign it would spend “six-figures” on a campaign that supports the board majorities policies. CPR reported that figure at “less than $250,000.”
