Did my kid’s school make the cut? Nope. What do these rankings mean, exactly? Different things to different people, to be sure. The magazine says it gave “special consideration” to schools with higher free and reduced price lunch numbers, i.e. lower income students. It’s unclear what the special consideration was. This list also includes private schools – even though academic achievement data is not publicly available. The magazine selected schools based upon “academic reputation, expert opinion, and overall buzz.” If you – like many parents – like rankings, take a look.
