Colorado’s next governor has a long education resume.

Democrat Jared Polis, who comfortably defeated Republican rival Walker Stapleton on Tuesday, is a former member of the State Board of Education and the founder of two charter school networks. 

As a gubernatorial candidate, Polis promised to fund full-day kindergarten and expand access to preschool (no easy task).
