Aimee Svenneby, Director of Development, joined the Chalkbeat team in January 2025 and focuses on fundraising in Colorado, Tennessee and Detroit.  Before joining Chalkbeat, Aimee was with Colorado Public Radio for 10 years as a Senior Account Manager. Aimee started her career in Washington DC as a staffer in the office of United States Senator Jim Sasser (Tennessee) and for a short time with the non-profit National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC). Over time, Aimee gradually moved into advertising sales, working for WQED's Pittsburgh Magazine and Wiesner Media in Colorado along the way.  Aimee also served as an elected official in the small town of Foxfield, Colorado, while helping with the family business Syntuity.  Aimee is a graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis and lives in Denver with her husband and 3 young adult children.
