How did your student’s school perform on Tennessee’s TCAP tests?
The Tennessee Department of Education this week released school-level performance data on the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program English and math assessments students took last school year.
State- and district-level results released earlier this summer showed overall improvement across the board for the 2025-2025 school year. For the first time, a majority of students met or exceeded expectations on the state’s social studies assessments, while about 43% of students in grades 3-8 scored proficient in math.
While nearly 45% of Tennessee third graders met or exceeded expectations on the English language arts test, data showed those literacy gains dropped off as students progressed through middle school. Overall, 40.6% of students in grades K-8 met proficiency standards in English.
Chalkbeat Tennessee compiled state results for all students in grades 3-8 into a database searchable by school. The database lists proficiency rates for math and English language arts, frequently referred to as the state’s reading test.
The desktop version of the database also includes year-over-year changes in the TCAP proficiency rates.
