Sami Edge is a story editor for Chalkbeat and Votebeat. She previously worked as a breaking news editor at The Oregonian. After graduating from the University of Oregon in 2016, Edge moved around the west, reporting on crime in New Mexico, K-12 education in Idaho, and higher education and state government in Oregon. She enjoys helping young people find their footing in journalism and launched a Youth Voices section at The Oregonian to allow teenagers to report for the paper. She currently lives in her hometown of Reno, Nevada.
