Chief People Officer
We’re looking for our first Chief People Officer to join the Chalkbeat team. The Chief People Officer will develop talent strategies and people initiatives that ensure Chalkbeat is the go-to organization for leaders and staff looking to do their best work on a diverse, high-performing team.
We’re seeking a reporter committed to local journalism and respects the transformative power of a good story. You’re a self-starter who is hungry to break news, eager to understand and inform vital public policy debates, and enthusiastic about creating new models for sustainable journalism. You’re a strong beat reporter who can develop reliable sources and beat the competition. You’ve got the ability to write a range of stories, from breaking news to enterprise and long-term projects. We are open to hiring a veteran reporter or an up-and-coming journalist for this position.
Graphic Designer/Project Manager
We’re seeking a graphic designer with strong project management skills to join the product team. Chalkbeat’s product team is responsible for our digital products and visual storytelling. We also provide support for editorial and revenue initiatives that require product thinking, such as newsletters, investigative projects, and membership. That support comes in many forms and degrees, from envisioning strategy to tactical execution.
